Africa Continent is the world's second largest and second most-populous in the World (the first being Asia in both categories).
It has a total of 54 Countries,  9 territories,2 de facto independent states with limited or no recognition.
Covering a total land area of 30.3 million km2 (11.7 million square miles) including adjacent islands, Africa amounts for 6% of Earth's total surface area and 20.4% of its total land area, With a Population of over 1.2 billion people as of 2016.

The African Continent produces about 16% of the world's human population.it is surrounded by the Mediterranean Sea to the north, both the Suez Canal and the Red Sea along the Sinai Peninsula to the northeast and the Indian Ocean to the southeast and the Atlantic Ocean to the west.
