Introduction: 

Orente hit maker , Adekunle Kosoko, popularly known by His stage name, Adekunle Gold, is a Nigerian musician, whose genre of music as been referred to as urban high life, with a little infusion of pop.

He made his debut in the Nigerian music scene with the release of his well accepted hit singles "Sade" which was released in 2014 and "Orente" under Olamide Music recording label, YBNL Nation, following his official signing to the record label on 5th march, 2015.

The song "Sade" which enjoyed lots of positive reviews from music lovers and critics alike, also enjoyed massive radio and television plays during this period.

His follow up release "Orente" which tells a story of love, was finally able to distinguished Adekunle Gold style of music, which he claims is largely influenced by his language Knowledge of English, Yoruba and Pidgin English, the artist in an interview with Pulse.ng acknowledge his knowledge of these language was a major influence and selling point, which makes his sound to reckon with the street, appealing to both the young and Old alike.

Other hit songs from Adekunle Gold are "Pick Up" (Released in 2015) a song on how he/his fans do desires to move up the ladder to be among the wealthy people in the society and more recently in 2016 he released his latest studio work, song titled "Ready".

Early Life and Music Background:

  

Born to the Family of Mr. and Mrs. Kosoko, a royal family in Lagos, Adekunle Gold grew up in the city of Lagos, where he had his early and secondary education, after which he attended Lagos State Polytechnic, where he holds a Higher National Diploma, HND in Arts and Design.

His early influence in music according to the music artist has been King Sunny Ade and Evangelist Ebeneezer Obe. these two influenced him in joining the teen choir of his church after singing along to evergreen songs from these legendary music artist. He wrote his first song at the age of 15.

 He was a member of the defunct music group, "The Bridge" with fellow friend Seyikeyz, the duo of Adekunle Gold and fellow band member Seyikeyz had in 2010, released 3 song titled "Norm Breaker" which featured former EME music boy, Skales, "No sleeping on a bicycle" "All of me" cover of John Legend song. 

Adekunle after a successful music learning and mastering period under "The Bridge"  music band, finally went on a Solo career in 2013, when he released his first song as a solo artist,titled "Let it Stop" a music composition on the need for peace in Nigeria.

His music career has since taken a new dimension and upward growth following his signing to the YBNL Nation, music recording label.

Aside music, Adekunle Gold is a proficient Graphic artist, who at some point worked on professional jobs such as logo design for YBNL Nation, Cover design of One Direction's "Story of my life" song and funny and yet interesting was an edited Photoshop image of him hugging Popular female music artist Tiwa Savage from behind, which went viral on instagram in 2013 and making him a social figure and added to his fan base.  

On how he got signed to Olamide YBNL Nation, Adekunle Gold In an interview revealed to pulse.ng how it all started:

“I have been working with Olamide, I designed the YBNL logo, I have done a couple of designs for the label before I got signed." Adekunle revealed.

“When I dropped Sade, Olamide apparently liked it, and the whole YBNL crew liked it. So he called me and said he really liked my sound, and didn’t want it to change, that he would love to work with me. “I didn’t see it coming, I didn’t lobby for it, I didn’t do anything, I didn’t think about it at all.”
