Abdul samad Isyaku Rabiu was born on August 4th 1960 to a already wealthy family of Khalifah Isyaku Rabiu, who was a leading and wealthy trader at the time, trading in rice and other industrial and trade commodities. hails from Kano, Khalifah Isyaku Rabiu was among the richest Nigeria in the early 1960 and 1979, sponsoring National Party of Nigeria, the ruling political party at the time.
Abdul samad Isyaku Rabiu who was born in Kano, Northern Nigeria, had his secondary school education in the state, before travelling abroad in the late 1970's to study for a university degree at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, United states of America.

BUA international limited got a boost in 1990, when it was contracted by the then government owned Delta steel company to supply its raw material demand,in exchange BUA was paid by the steel company with its finished product.
the successes achieved by BUA over the years includes but not limited to
1. BUA commissioned the second largest sugar refinery in sub-saharan Africa, breaking the all year long monopoly in the sugar refining and distribution market.
2. Acquired Nigerian oil mills limited,A major edible oil processing company in Nigeria.
3. In 2005, BUA commissioned 2 flour milling plant, one in Lagos and the other in Kano.
4. in 2009 BUA acquired large share control of Cement Company of Northern Nigeria and in the same year commenced construction of $500 million cement processing plant in Edo state, south south Nigeria.
