Kilani had his primary education at Oke-Ona Primary School in Abeokuta and later Abeokuta grammar school.
He learnt the act of photography working as an apprentice in Abeokuta before joining the defunt western Nigerian Television (WNTV) where he further built on his skills on use of photography equipment.
Following is departure from Nigeria's premier televesion station (WNTV) Tunde Kilani attended the London film school, where he obtained Diploma in Art and Technique of Filmmaking and mastered the act of professional film making.
He had work experience with the British Television (BBC) and news agency, Reuters, working as a correspondent in Nigeria around 1970s.
Tunde Kilani asisde movie producing and film making has also worked on the set of Hollywood film, Mister Johnson which starred top actors like Pierce Brosnan of the popular 007 James bond film and Maynard Eziashi.
The ace filmmaker, Tunde Kilani established his own film production company, Mainframe films and television production in 1991, the film company has since produce high quality and cultural rich films such as Thunderbolt (Magun), Arugba,Ti Oluwa nile,campus queen,saworoide and most recently maami and dazzling mirage.
