Olamide was born in Bariga Lagos, to yoruba family, he graduated from Tai Solarin university of education in the department of mass communication. in the year 2000 he began his musical career as a hip hop Nigerian artist, with yoruba (a Nigeria language) as his primary language of lyrics composition, delivering most of his songs in Yoruba with a miss of English and Pidgin English.

Olamide released his first career album in 2011, titled, Rapsodi which had hit songs like Eni du ro,Apa ti Jabo, Young Erikina,First of All. in 2012 he released his second studio album titled YBNL, which had a hit track "Voice of The Street"

He has since colaborated with several Nigerian artist such as 9ice, Davido,Phyno, Tiwa Savage, Kayswitch, Dammy Krane, Reminisce, Samklef, Buckwylla, Minus 2 and Base One amongs others.
