Professor Yemi Osinbanjo is a Nigerian born professor of law,Born into the humble family of Mr. and Mrs. Adeyemi, Had his law degree (Bachelor of Law, LL.B) from the university of Lagos (Unilag) Akoka, Yaba in 1978, Osinbanjo later proceeded to study for his Masters degree in London school of Economics in 1980.
In 1979 he got approval to practice at Nigeria's apex Court the supreme court. while at the apex court in Nigeria, Osinbanjo achieved remarkable success in issues of constitution,Business disputes between corporation and multinational firms handling power projects in Nigeria,Physical and urban planning disbutes between various units that makes up the Nigerian Federation.
In 1988 he was appointed Special Advisor to the solicitor and Attorney-General of Nigeria, a position he held for close to three years.
Between 1997 - 1999, Professor Osinbanjo was appointed as the Head of the Department of Public Law at University of Lagos, Akoka.
1999, Professor Yemi Osinbanjo was appointed by the then Lagos state Governor, Senator Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as Commissioner of Justice and Attorney General of Lagos state, Nigeria's commercial nerve center, a Position He held till 2007.
The distinguished professor of law and senior Advocate of Nigeria is a Pastor in Nigeria 's largest Pentecostal church, The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) and also the chairman of the Redeemers University board of trustees.
following his nomination December 17 2014, He is the vice Presidential running mate to General Muhammadu Buhari ,the Presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the February 2015 Presidential polls/General election.
He was later sworn in as Vice President of Nigeria on May 29, 2015, after winning the Presidential election alongside Muhammadu Buhari, which saw a change of Power from then Ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
